Video Curriculum on Screening for the Social Determinants of Health

Date of Review: February, 2019

This is a Pediatrics resident directed workshop, from MedEdPORTAL, with power point and video vignettes teaching general SDOH. Many strengths. Power points and videos engaging, MedEdPORTAL has all the materials with very clear and itemized instructions. Pre/post surveys and patient surveys are detailed. Outcomes show learner attitude/confidence improvements. The patient outcomes are solid but needs larger study and more curriculum exposure for learners. A weakness is that the curriculum should be repeated with learners, a simulated component could be added, and stronger outcomes — Aashish Didwania, MD, NCEAS
