PedsCases – A Learning Module for Evaluation of Suspected Child Abuse for Medical Students
Date of Review: March, 2019
This resource, from MedEdPORTAL, is one module in a series that the University of Alberta has developed to support medical student independent learning of pediatric clinical care, in this case in regards to pediatric abuse. The format incorporates a variety of modalities, including two podcasts, 2 multistep cases and multiple choice interactive questions. Due to the nature of the online modules it can be accomplished in one to several sittings determined by the learner. There is a background instructors guide, and one could also adapt it to a small group setting. It is a well defined resource, easily able to be implemented by other institutions and could also be used in resident training..– Barb Bayldon, MD, NCEAS
