An Interdisciplinary Team-Based Learning Experience in Health Systems and Inequalities

Date of Review: February, 2019

This team-based learning resource, from MedEdPORTAL, was designed for interdisciplinary health professions students to collectively explore health disparities and social determinants of health. This exercise was delivered as a half-day workshop to a large sample of learners, and includes a detailed facilitation guide complete with an individual readiness assurance test, team readiness assurance test, application exercises, and a suggested reading list. The facilitation schema provides an example schedule template along with logistical considerations for implementation. An item analysis is also provided. — Katy Wright, PhD, NCEAS
