Teaching Medical Spanish to Improve Population Health
Date of Review: March, 2021
This AAMC resource is valuable in that it makes us think about language concordance between patient-provider. It also highlights the disparities that occur when there is language discordance and the disparities in the Hispanic population at baseline even with language is not a barrier. This talk provides ideas and tools for medical schools to improve and implement Spanish content/curriculum. They share a set of metrics that medical schools can use to implement and evaluate their curricula. —Sara Tariq, MD, NCEAS
