Mental Health Plan 2013-2020

This resource lays out the current situation in 2012/2013 in global mental health, and reports on the WHO principles and strategies for addressing the prevention and treatment of mental health delivery to this vulnerable population. The strategic plan details 4 objectives 1. To strengthen effective leadership and governance for mental health 2. To provide comprehensive, integrated and responsive mental health and social care services in community-based settings 3. To implement strategies for promotion and prevention in mental health 4. To strengthen information systems, evidence and research for mental health It includes goals for each objective and identifies roles for different stakeholders in implementing the action plan. It is a bit old but provides an example of a large organization’s action plan and could be used within a curriculum as a reference, an example of large scale health action plan. —Barb Bayldon, MD, NCEAS
