Machine Learning-Augmented Propensity Score-Adjusted Multilevel Mixed Effects Panel Analysis of Hands-On Cooking and Nutrition Education versus Traditional Curriculum for Medical Students as Preventive Cardiology: Multisite Cohort Study of 3,248 Trainees over 5 Years
Date of Review: February, 2020
This resource describes an innovative approach to teaching nutrition in a culturally inclusive way. Described is a process whereby medical students learn about heart healthy nutrition through cooking classes, then in a later step work in a grocery store in an under-resourced neighborhood to teach those same skills to the local population. Exciting innovative idea, challenging to build due to potential costs and set up of facilities. — Susan Hasti, MD, NCEAS
