CDC, Coronavirus Disease 2019 (COVID-19): Resources to Support People Experiencing Homelessness

Date of Review: September, 2021

This resource, from the CDC, is a collection of COVID-19 related case studies, peer-reviewed papers and educational/screening tools meant to support educators and public health officials working with homeless communities. The webpage is broken into several sections including: vaccine information, official CDC guidance, case investigations, educational tools and CDC affiliated peer-reviewed papers. SDOH educators will likely find the peer-reviewed papers and educational tools the most useful when building out an SDOH curriculum that focuses on COVID-19 and the homeless community. It also includes one full training slide deck for homeless shelter workers. This resource could be helpful in clinical settings. —Ashti Doobay-Persaud, MD, NCEAS
