Date of Review: March, 2019
This resource, from MedEdPORTAL, is a curricula aimed at M1 or M2 students to improve their ability to understand the important aspects of a patient’s social history how it relates to current medical issues and management of a disease. The curricula consist of a self-directed reading assignment which needs to be summarized and turned in, and a session consisting of case based learning divided in to 2 small group interactive components, the first managing initial results and the second managing a cancer diagnosis. The resource on MedEdPORTAL consists of a facilitators guide, a list of the articles t be read, student packets and a student evaluation of the exercise. — Barb Bayldon, MD, NCEAS
