Medical Students and Preventative Health: A Nutrition Program for Community Middle School Students

Date of Review: February, 2019

This publication, from MedEdPORTAL, outlines the process to develop a medical student-led nutrition program for implementation in local middle schools. Though this resource was initially developed at the University of Chicago Pritzker School of Medicine for implementation at Carter G. Woodson Middle School, the content could be adapted for wider use. The authors note that at the time of publication, pre/post evaluation data was not available, however student feedback was generally positive and school administrators recommended expanding the program from 6 to 14 weeks.– Katy Wright, PhD, NCEAS
