Health Equity Curricular Toolkit: Social Determinants of Health Modules

Date of Review: June, 2020

This resource is a toolkit intended for a broad audience of clinical and public health learners and primary care faculty. It is offered by the American Academy of Family Physicians (AAFP) and is comprised of modules that explore a variety of topics centered on health equity. The resource is very well described and contains detailed topics of health equity that promote social accountability. There are 14 distinct and detailed modules included in this resource. Each module is organized as a single PDF with learning objectives, “Ignite” videos, questions for group discussion, and a list of high equity resources including further readings/exploration. Overall learning sessions using this resource will promote holistic and comprehensive discussions that spur collective health action. It would be easy to integrate and supplement curricula across primary care training, clerkships, programs and for faculty development.–Ashti Doobay-Persaud, MD, NCEAS
