This is a commentary on the disproportionate deaths of older adults in USA during the COVID-19 Pandemic. The authors analyze the ongoing debate about the role of nursing homes in COVID-related deaths. The paper calls for a an approach that focuses on prevention, including adequate support for nursing home staff, rather than spending inordinate amount of resources on treatment, including ventilators. –Memoona Hasnain, MD
